Session 4: Terms Related to Learning Environment

It sits on the fields of Psychosocial environment and Psychology.

The school climate, culture and physical environment affects the classroom environment. Leadership, shared vision, finances, discipline directs the school from the top.

Teaching methodologies employed within the school has an impact on the outcome.

These combine with the cognitive development, learning styles and formative and summative assessment modes that interacts with human behaviour (inclusive of gender differences) and their perception. Relationships, emotion well-discipline along with their personal attitudes affect the student-teacher interaction.

Staff congeniality, professional development helps teachers improve.

Another slice of the cake is the parent-teacher relationship in the area of academic achievement. Many studies have shown that when parents are involved in the development process, results are very positive.
